Norton RazorStar® Product Line Expands with New Fiber Discs

Addressing the unique needs of carbon steel applications, Saint-Gobain is extending its popular Norton RazorStar product line with the non-supersized FS1190 Fiber Discs. Engineered especially for use in Welding, Metal Fabrication, MRO, Construction, and Oil & Gas, these new fiber discs have been extensively tested to deliver performance metrics at the top of the industry.

Several product improvements are built into this new RazorStar generation. “Our customers have provided some excellent feedback since we launched the original RazorStar family in 2024,” noted Scott Kilinski, Director of Product Management. “We put our engineers to work in response to this field input and are introducing design updates to make a great product even better. Early testing metrics prove the performance sets a higher standard in the market.”

The Same, But Better

Norton RazorStar FS1190 will feature the same patented, breakthrough engineered shaped ceramic grain technology and geometry as the original RazorStar, but now the abrasive formulation has been enhanced for greater performance and edge grain retention. In addition, the discs now feature a stronger disc backing to extend product life and deliver a smoother operator experience. These product changes push the performance up a level on 36-grit applications, making this an ideal choice for carbon steel applications across many industries.
